About the Bristol Network Chris Gregory
THE BRISTOL NETWORK
Pure fibre optic and ultrafast for everyone
A Ready-Made Network:
Gradually built over a number of years throughout the city of Bristol is an underground duct network owned and used by Bristol City Council for its own purposes. However, much of the 80 + kilometres is under-utilised with spare capacity.
The Bristol Network is taking advantage of the space in the council’s ducts to provide broadband and internet services to Bristol businesses and communities.
Always Fast, Always Fibre:
Unlike more traditional providers, the Bristol Network will be purely fibre optic based and ultra-fast (at least 100Mbps) to every property it connects.
On successfully winning the Bristol City Council’s concession agreement to use the duct network, the joint venture company was formed and named The Bristol Network.
Both shareholding companies have many years of experience in operating Internet connectivity networks and their joint power provides Bristol with an exciting opportunity in the new world of Internet communications.
